Book of She

8:55 AM

"She's the kind of queen,
That knows her crown isn't on her head,
But in her soul."

---

The title "Book of She" was adapted from a book written by Adrian Michael Green. This particular project was kind of another stepping stone for me because somehow I changed my tone into more contrast rather than "dreamy" feel. It's not that I try to change my style, but it's just that.. I need to match it with the feel and the story that I want to tell about. And also, this project is my last project with one of my model friends, Jenny/Tschennie (she wrote about our shooting here) since she's going to go back to her home country :(

Yes, this project seems to show a lot of the model's skin, but I'm sorry, even though I'm a woman, I have no confidence and I still feel embarrassed shooting semi-nude/nude. This series is supposed to tell a story about being a woman. You should embrace your soul, the inner beauty inside every human, and your whole self. It's like my theme of my life now is being yourself, in and out. I'm not a life motivator or things like that, but I just can't stand those girls out there being so fake with their life, especially faking herself, just to get attention or respect from others. Urgh.

Girl, I tell you what. Getting respect or attention from others is not as important as being proud of what you are. Society will still give you negative things anyway. That quote, in the beginning of this post, should always be your reminder.

Hello everyone! Finally I update this blog again. Sorry for not updating. Too busy with my own things here :/

Here's my new work and honestly, i'm quite surprised with these works. I never try ANY Indonesian-inspired photography style, like EVER. I always in those American or Korean fashion style whatsoever but not my own country. Hmm.. Well, finally I got a chance to do it. It's actually for my uni project but I thought it's good enough to be my portfolio as well.

YAY! Finally it's SPRIIIING!
It's been a month (or more) since I arrived back here in Busan. Don't ask about my study, let's leave it first. Quite annoying actually that the weather is still cold and we need to layered up but it's SPRING already?! Oh God. I feel like wanted to go back to my hometown since it's hot there (even though I also can't stand of the humidity). Urgh.

So! I went to the Jinhae Spring Festival for the second time and it's still A LOT of people came there. Not so enjoyable since we're going in a such big groups with all the international people and it's super crowded so.. what do you expected? HAHA! HOWEVER, this time, I managed to catch the sakura's petal! YAY!

P.S. Do you know there's a myth that if you catch the petal when it fell down, you'll get into a relationship here (in Korea)? Well believe it or not but I caught it anyway.

When the world cannot make me cry
That's when the scales will fall from your eyes

For the first time, in my life, I took pictures in a dark room. No natural lights, just candles. It's thrilling actually because I'm afraid that it will turned out ALL bluuuuryy. Luckily it turned out great. Fyuuh..

Glitter Dessert

8:01 AM

This time i got a special collaboration with a fabulous fashion blogger.
She's my junior in high school (and also a sister of my friend).
Nadya Joy, known as the Glitter Dessert, she's such a sweet and smart young lady.
I adore her style, a mix of edgy and sweet dressy thing.

It's just a sneak peek of what we did.

another day has gone. my holiday will end soon and i'll get back to reality. sigh. i hope during school time i still have time to update this blog. *crossing fingers*

here we are again, looking for new and fresh fashion photographers. i don't know why i got so many woman fashion photographers than man. they got really high quality of works and taste of art. maybe i should look more. but these women are superb. including this young lady.

she's Germany. i don't care how old she is. all that i care about is her works. she have this sense of art which i really admire. her honesty portrays in her works. it shows reality, what people want to see in an artwork. no drama, that's the point.

sincere is the key to an artistic one. you don't have to force it to make it better. simply follow the line and it will get you to the right place. this is what i felt when looking through her works. i felt peace.

i always admire underwater photography because i can imagine how hard it is. you need special equipments to shot and ability to swim/dive, also you have to keep your eyes OPEN (for the models)! big OMG. can you imagine how hard it is?

maybe you have seen these pictures somewhere, on Google, tumblr, weheartit, you name it. yes, it's a really famous underwater photographer. this isn't a fashion photography, but this is more into conceptual with a little touch of fashion. it will give you goosebumps. trust me.

using only Canon 5D Mark II and Ikelite housing, she produced these magnificent photos. just WOW. i don't know what to say anymore.

Letters to Juliet

back to my current obsession, i'm looking through deviantart again for more stunning fashion photographs. then i found this lady.

she's Italian (i guess) and she had been working on various fashion issues. i can't remember what are those but her works are absolutely outstanding and phenomenal. seriously.

what i loved from her works is how she concern of the details in every picture. it looks like she emphasizing the strong and dramatic side of women's life. i love the colors she used. i just love them all.

i hope one day she can give workshop in Indonesia and i'll make sure that i'm gonna be there.
