Book of She

8:55 AM

"She's the kind of queen,
That knows her crown isn't on her head,
But in her soul."

---

The title "Book of She" was adapted from a book written by Adrian Michael Green. This particular project was kind of another stepping stone for me because somehow I changed my tone into more contrast rather than "dreamy" feel. It's not that I try to change my style, but it's just that.. I need to match it with the feel and the story that I want to tell about. And also, this project is my last project with one of my model friends, Jenny/Tschennie (she wrote about our shooting here) since she's going to go back to her home country :(

Yes, this project seems to show a lot of the model's skin, but I'm sorry, even though I'm a woman, I have no confidence and I still feel embarrassed shooting semi-nude/nude. This series is supposed to tell a story about being a woman. You should embrace your soul, the inner beauty inside every human, and your whole self. It's like my theme of my life now is being yourself, in and out. I'm not a life motivator or things like that, but I just can't stand those girls out there being so fake with their life, especially faking herself, just to get attention or respect from others. Urgh.

Girl, I tell you what. Getting respect or attention from others is not as important as being proud of what you are. Society will still give you negative things anyway. That quote, in the beginning of this post, should always be your reminder.

Finding Myself, Again

10:00 AM

This post is specially written about a story of how I find myself, again.

--

I, a woman who still knows nothing about how life works, have a story on how I found myself. My own self.

Not many people know about this but in the past days, I always obey people and try to please people that it ended up ruining me. I have been always be in pain. Not only from sickness, but also from other things. I got lots and lots of emotional damage in my life. Bullied, betrayed, abused, and also emotionally hurt; by words and actions.

I thought I was so damaged that I've created "my other self ", making me into a double personality or bipolar person.

She is a strong woman, a tough one. I never really know her existence until recently when I'm having a personality difficulty. I need to find myself. I know, deep inside my consciousness, that she will always protect me in any situation. She knows no fear. Pain makes her stronger. I was always been weak that people are enjoying hurting me because I don't speak up. And every time someone hurt me, she gets stronger and build the wall that is unbreakable. That's how I lived for all these years.

Until one day, something happened to me.

I.. met her.

I just realized how different she is from me. How strong she have become. I didn't realized it myself that I also grow stronger, together with her. And day by day, we're emerging into one whole new individual... Me. I can't believe that this persona that I created, helped me become who I am today.

I am her, she is me.

From that day on, every artwork that I make, every story that I tell..
It was always about our story.

2016 SHOWREEL

10:24 AM

Hello again, everyone! How you guys are doing?
It's almost the end of the year again, so it means that it's time for RECAP of what happened in 2016.

First, I would like to thank you for all your supports and likes in my Instagram. My Instagram is flooding with your likes and comments. I really appreciated it :)

Well, since I'm no longer working in the studio again (I'm an office lady now :p), I don't really have much free time for my personal work. However, I'm trying to still do it as often as I can because it's my passion and my second job too. I'll stay creative :)

OK, let's move on.

Since I moved to Seoul, I got a lot of chance to work with foreign models. Don't judge me, but I do prefer foreign models than the Asian. Although, many Korean model agencies has recruited a lot of unique faces, but I feel like Europeans have a lot more variant and diverse face features, each of them are different. And of course, another good point, that their face features match with my concept. So, on this moment, I would like to introduce you the foreign models that I've been working with in 2016.

Emma (Netherland)

Iida (Sweden)

Alexa (Russia)

Lisa (Norway)

Embla (Norway)

My roommate, Arianna (Italy)

Tabya (German)

Lily (France)

Sasha (Russia)

Tschennie/Jenny (German)

Pretty, aren't they? Honestly, I really enjoyed taking pictures with them because not only you get to know them and get your artwork, but you also learn each other's cultural background. We talked about our countries' political condition, cultural issues, etc. It was mind-blowing. There are things that you will not know about a certain country other than having conversation with the natives. Media are sometimes fake and not digging deep enough.

Other than working with foreign models, this year I got a chance to meet, take pictures, collaborated, and be friends with beauty bloggers/Youtubers. I met these two beautiful ladies from my friend, Musa, who used to shoot pictures with one of them.

Let me introduce you...

Sunny Dahye

Kim Dao

Our Christmas collaboration

This powerful duo has been friends for 6 years (?) and they always together. I will link their Youtube channels below. As some of you may know, Sunny is a Korean who used to live and grew up in Indonesia. She speaks Indonesian like a native, like me. I still remember the first time I met her, I was shocked of how fluent she is. It feels like me talking to my Indonesian friends, not to a Korean. And Kim, she's a Vietnamese who was born and grew up in Australia and currently living in Japan. Three of us are the same age, the 90s, so no wonder that every time we meet, we just talk shit and sometimes having deep conversation (just because we like to criticize haha). I'm lucky to be one of their friends.

So yeah.. I guess it's almost the end of my not-so-long post. I really want to post everything here but I just don't have time and energy to do it.

Make sure you follow my Instagram here for my artwork updates.

I will launch my official website SOON (I really hope I can do it fast), so bare with me!
To end this post, I would like to share my favorite pieces from 2016.

I hope you had a wonderful 2016 and a better year next year.

Sorry for neglecting this blog. Not quite a long hiatus but I've been busy with thesis and everything. Honestly, I fell in love with this concept. Actually I was preparing another concept for a photoshoot but these friends of mine reminds me of Lana Del Rey's song for Maleficent. The 'Once Upon a Dream' in dark version seems to fit my taste :p

Finally, I got a little spare time in the middle of busy days. Actually I'm just bored and tired of doing my assignments so I just grab a friend of mine and do some personal project. It's been a while since I do emotive and lyrical project.

This time, I did 'Only Hope' song from A Walk to Remember. They got 2 versions of this song, one is popular one by Mandy Moore, the other is by the original composer Switchfoot. I personally like Switchfoot's version better. So yeah...

You know the lyrics. Or if not, google it yourself.

Hello everyone! Finally I update this blog again. Sorry for not updating. Too busy with my own things here :/

Here's my new work and honestly, i'm quite surprised with these works. I never try ANY Indonesian-inspired photography style, like EVER. I always in those American or Korean fashion style whatsoever but not my own country. Hmm.. Well, finally I got a chance to do it. It's actually for my uni project but I thought it's good enough to be my portfolio as well.

YAY! Finally it's SPRIIIING!
It's been a month (or more) since I arrived back here in Busan. Don't ask about my study, let's leave it first. Quite annoying actually that the weather is still cold and we need to layered up but it's SPRING already?! Oh God. I feel like wanted to go back to my hometown since it's hot there (even though I also can't stand of the humidity). Urgh.

So! I went to the Jinhae Spring Festival for the second time and it's still A LOT of people came there. Not so enjoyable since we're going in a such big groups with all the international people and it's super crowded so.. what do you expected? HAHA! HOWEVER, this time, I managed to catch the sakura's petal! YAY!

P.S. Do you know there's a myth that if you catch the petal when it fell down, you'll get into a relationship here (in Korea)? Well believe it or not but I caught it anyway.

Hello people! It's been a while since I post something here. I'm busy living my new life in Busan, again. Well this is another surprise for you I think.

I'm back in KOREA! YAY!

I'm not here for shopping or just a holiday, but I'm here for study. I'm taking master degree in my former university in Busan (still remember my exchange program moment right?). It's finally come true that I can pursue my study and taking master degree. Thank God.

Anyway, I still do some freelance photography work here so maybe if you want to have a shot, just contact me :)

Hey hey guys! How's everybody doing? I've been so busy with fashion photo shoots these days, since I'm helping VDS as the assistant photographer so yeah.. But it was fun though. I can meet some FAMOUS people in my hometown and it was nice to finally met them :D

The images above were my FIRST photo shoot in 2014. YAY! So, at first, I didn't have an intention to do that clean look of beauty portrait. I want to continue my CHEFS-D'Å’UVRE project with AWT but he's not in town :( Then Indah asked for a help to me to have some clean look photos for her model composite card. I'm thinking "why not?". HERE IT IS!

Anyway, it's almost Chinese New Year isn't it? I've prepared another fashion shots, JUST for CNY.
Wait for it!

Ciao.

P.S. AH YES! HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014 PEOPLE!
